TEFL

In these covid times, you’re never sure if things are going to happen to the schedule you expect. For the last three months, I’ve been trying to enroll on a course to earn a TEFL qualification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language; not to be confused with TOEFL, which is Test Of English as a Foreign Language, both of which sound similar in French…). The course most local to me in in Toulouse, a beautiful town aout 250 km southeast of here and one of France’s most important. It’s home to both ESA and Airbus and looks really pretty, from Google Streetview.

I’ve been trying to get on the course since the start of the year but two have already been cancelled for lack of people being able to come. The March course is hopefully going ahead, even though the class won’t be at capacity. This would mean I’m going to be exploring Toulouse from the end of March until almost all the way through April! I think I might take the time, other than to study, to just get offline for a month. Not read the news, not surf the web and not doomscrolling through covid news! Whaddya reckon? A good idea?
