This really is a quick one. I spotted some chestnuts in the shop yesterday, and thought that my air fryer might make a good mini-brazier for cooking these delicious nuts. First off, cut a diagonal cross on the rounded back of each fruit.

Then, boil a kettle with a bit of water, enough to bathe the nuts you’ve chosen to cook. I put the chestnuts into an empty pan with a lid, poured the boiling water over and put the lid on. I left the pan for around five minutes. In that time, I set the air fryer to preheat by setting it to roast at 190°C then transferred the nuts to roast at 190°C for 16 minutes. You can shuffle the nuts around at half-time, but honestly I think I only did that to try to encourage the cooking to be faster. No joy there, but as you can see, the chestnuts I roasted didn’t last long.
