At first glance, this looks like my scooter is now capable of doing almost 130 KM on a run. Even with summertime distances, I wish it were true. The reason is that the staff at the castle kindly allowed me to charge while I was doing my visit. My return journey was also longer than the outbound because my phone died partway through the return and there wasn’t abundant signage to allow me to make my way back without a couple of detours – my bum was numb by the time I finally got back home!
Chateau Villandraut is lovely. The entrance price is the same whether you are on the guided tour or just exploring on your own, but I fully recommend the guided tour. My guide was very good, with answers for nearly all our questions. The guided tour also opens other areas of the castle to you, such as climbing the extremely narrow stairs into the towers. I don’t have much to say about the journey, it was mostly on very straight roads cut through pine forest and maize fields.
