An update on the previous version of this subject. It seems that at some point between then and now, Mozilla has removed the browser.search.showOneOffButtons setting. To regain the original search bar type an add-on called OldSearchFixed is needed. Here are some other things that I have done today following a Firefox refresh:
- Added Context Search X to enable RMB search menus
- Moved CutyFox to the URL bar
- Reauthorised KeeFox
- Other add-ons seem to get re-installed, but it looks like NoScript has lost all its settings
